Hisense 2021 laser display TVs promise better colors than OLED or quantum dots

TV manufacturer Hisense announced a new line of laser projection televisions in these Which the company claims has better color performance than any other screen technology.

Hisense says the new TriChroma Laser TV is the only screen that meets the BT2020 color standard. BT2020 has been a target of TV manufacturers for many years and is a major feature of NextGen TV (ATSC 3.0)4K broadcast standard. The Chinese company claims that the technology delivers 50% better color than “high-end cinema” and has a brightness of 430 nits, which is high for a projector. High-end LCD TVs usually reach a maximum of 1,000 nits.

During the first CES press conference for 2021, Hisense showed off a limited edition 100-inch model, the 100L9 Pro. This TV features a black and rose gold display unit, with pop-up speakers and a front-mounted full color screen. It has a 100-inch screen.

The company is also “showing” two other models in a fully default offering – the 75-inch TriChroma Laser TV and the Laser Self-rising TV. The Self-Rising Laser TV includes a screen that is “capable of rolling over as well as maintaining highest optical performance”, as the company promises.

Hisense currently sells laser televisions in the US, but the availability and pricing of the 2021 kit has not been announced.
