MachineGames (Wolfenstein: The New Order and Wolfenstein: The New Colossus) and Bethesda are partnering with Lucasfilm Games for a standalone Indiana Jones game, to be produced by Bethesda Game Studios director Todd Howard.
Bethesda tweeted To say, “A new Indiana Jones game with an original story under development from our studio, MachineGames, and will be produced by Todd Howard, in collaboration with LucasfilmGames. It will take some time before we reveal more, but we’re so excited to share the news of the day!”

An original Bethesda Twitter post includes a video featuring the word MachineGames, the Lucasfilm Games logo, iconic hat and whip. a Share StarWars.com He explains that the teaser sentence “may bear some clues”, but clarifies that the game will be held “at the height of the famous adventurer’s career”.Aside from the company logos, the game will apparently be revolving in part around Vatican City, with a plane ticket to Rome dated October 1937, and as IGN’s Jordan Oloman notesMap with the Sistine Chapel on the table.

No release date, genre or platforms have been set at the time of writing, but one thing is clear – MachineGames will have plenty of ideas for how to send Indie to the Nazis.

As Bethesda acquires Microsoft looming, it’s not clear if this will be Xbox exclusive (timed or full), but it seems very likely that the game will start in Game Pass, as Microsoft is looking for “first, better or better” Bethesda games on Xbox platforms.

Lucasfilm Games was announced as a return brand yesterday, which will apparently cover games by many developers “in the Star Wars galaxy and beyond” – and that is clearly the “out” part. “Lucasfilm Games is now the official identity for all game titles from Lucasfilm,” read a statement, “A name that encompasses the company’s rich video game catalog and its eye toward the future.”
